Re: hicks jumped on white's 3rd qtr TD against Okie st
If I remember right Hicks false started the play before, but it's all moot now. Maybe you'll give the Okie Lite fans some ammunition, but it was five months ago so a missed false start doesn't mean anything. We won the game.

I just emailed JP about this. Hopefully he can call his friends in the NCAA and get this thing resolved.
This always happens to Iowa State. We think we've won. And then BOOM. Not so fast, my friend.

IF called, yes this game could have ended in an OSU victory. nobody knows. i'm sure he posted this because it's the biggest win in school history and everyone is ripping on the guy for posting an observation... i never noticed hicks moving and i have watched the game several times. i think it's great that all these months later and people still watch this game... hell, i'm bored at work so i'm gonna watch it again!

I don't have a copy of the game, but if I remember correctly the OSU defense was jumping to make Hicks jump. I remember our defense actually got called for doing something similar to cause a false start in the Oklahoma game. So perhaps the refs were giving us the benefit of the doubt there, because whatever penalty we got hit with in the OU game should have applied there against OSU.

Gues what op, ISU got there fair share of no calls that could have made the games we lost go the other way. Get over it. Its almost 6 months ago.

Thanks for pointing that out. now I can use this info to keep myself awake at night instead of feeling guilty about the holding non-call at the end of Danny Mac's last game.

Just watched it, and this is exactly what happened. Both the DT and the blitzing LB (over center) were flinching trying to get someone to jump.
I love how during this sequence they show Weeden joking around and laughing. That plane crash was really hurting him at this point... Sorry excuse Weeden.

Weeden never used the plane crash as an excuse..

Thats probably how it affected them. However, they still played the game. That's what it all comes down to. They thought, even in distress, they could beat the lowly Cyclones. No excuses. It would have put more of a fire in me.

I wonder if it affected them being up 24-7 in the third quarter? Or did it all of the sudden hit them in the 4th?

This is why I hate the off-season
