Is my parking pass in trouble?
Ok.. I am excited that in Feb. they announced that we had over 6000 more season ticket holders than we had last year....
But.....
Does that mean that a lot of people are now donating money to the cyclone club and requesting parking passes..... creating a demand for parking that will be very competitive?
I have had season tickets for a few years.. and have been donating x amount of money for my C4 parking spot.. but if 4000 more people donate just a little more than me.. does that move me way down the list?
are we going to get into a bidding war over the parking privileges?
just a thought...
Re: Is my parking pass in trouble?
remember they also factor in longevity and total $$ given in the formula.
Re: Is my parking pass in trouble?
Yes. Your new parking spot will be by the ole towers and u will be bused in
Re: Is my parking pass in trouble?
In our time as season ticket holders, the parking has changed a few times. We were always notified when NCC renewals came out if there was a change - parking or seating. I believe it was 2004 or 2005, Varsity ($50) level no longer was enough for parking (which was still free). They asked for $100, but didn't make it mandatory. More along the lines of, "give what is comfortable for you, but understand that only $100+ will guarantee parking." 2006 (I think) we got another, "thanks for giving! however, if you want to guarantee parking, we'll need $500 or more." I don't think we've gotten to the point where Cardinal (or higher) completely fills the lots, so lots of States and I think even some/most Century donors can get passes.

I must have missed this - so does that mean season tickets is over 40k?
Re: Is my parking pass in trouble?
We need a thermometer! Does this include student tickets?

People renewing at a fast rate, I think. They were ahead of last year's pace, and projecting a record.
I might be wrong. That seems right to me.
Re: Is my parking pass in trouble?
Does anybody know the numbers on how many people buy parking permits? I know lots of people with tickets, but very few who have permits.

Exactly. My group alone accounted for about 15 tickets last year but only three parking passes.
Re: Is my parking pass in trouble?
On top of these new 6,000 season ticket holders, you have to figure in Iowa fans buying at least 500-1000 season tickets last year. So really were probably up even more compared to fans that will actually show up to all the games.
Re: Is my parking pass in trouble?
I normally give at the cardinal levels and then some... but....
I remember last year reading that people giving a few hundred dollars historically being moved back to the grass lots when they had been in the asphalt areas before...
if this occurs without notice... now we need to question how much is enough to get our previous spot..
so if someone knows how these priorities are determined.... let us know..
I don't mind supporting the team... but I like to know where I stand with them also.
I hope that if I am about to lose some previous seniority because of a few dollars....I will be contacted and given a chance to remedy or decline.
I love the fact that our cyclones are dong well.... "So Proud" but don't want to get into a silent bidding war to enjoy the games......
I have 4 kids attending ISU this fall.... can't get completely carried away with the donations...
Re: Is my parking pass in trouble?
To temper those numbers, keep in mind that they were heavily incentivizing renewing early. So while i think we'll probably still be up, 6000 up might be a stretch. (It would be awesome though!)
Re: Is my parking pass in trouble?
Obviously you will be parking by VetMed this year.

Last year, it took at least $250 (plus parking pass) to get into the paved lots. And, the newer $250 donors were in the grass across Elwood. So, to be assured of the paved lots, you had to donate $500. I would assume that even with an increase in season ticket holders, $500 donors are going to be safe. They may end up further north than before, but I'd be shocked to see any of them end up in G7. And if any do, it would be the newest donors anyway.
