Although I'd say he went with the second-best program from his list of offers - from purely a W-L standpoint (The first being Oregon).

Mizzou signed the top WR last year & has a really good start to a class this year. Think a couple 4* may end up 5* when the ratings are finalized. Really think they are leveraging the whole 'you'll be playing in THE best conference' to lure in recruits.

Oh well. Best of luck to him and on to the next for us.

You aren't selling to kids that want to get out of the region, that is exactly the angle. You get all the exposure and allure of playing in the SEC, but you get to stay close to home where mom and dad can still drive to your home games.

All of Missouri's best recruits so far, except for Campos, are from Missouri so they don't have to do too much selling of the SEC. Now if they start getting top recruits from other states then I will think that the SEC has something to do with it. But right now I would say it is mostly a product of Missouri being a better program over the past few years.

Think in the past Missouri was poached more. The OU's & others came in & took the top talent. Appears Mizz is really focusing on getting those top in-state players, & it is now a necessity more than ever as Texas may be more questionable. The latter is a wait & see.

I get all of this minus the allure of playing in the SEC...for Missouri. Mom and dad get to go down to Columbia to watch their son get abused by Georgia DLs? Like I said in my previous post MU is an unknown right now. You're gambling that they can compete at a high level in SEC. If he's looking to get developed into an NFL O-lineman seems like he'd be better off at Iowa or Wisconsin. And we put KO in the NFL...

But whatever, Stinkel is his problem now.

I would imagine that the SEC move has cut both ways. The Big 12 teams that used to poach recruits from the state of Missouri are having a harder time now because those recruits will not be playing against Mizzou or in the state of Missouri at all.

Most of those KC kids and other local kids MU has commitments from talked about the SEC as being a big deal... they are going to sell it hard as the road to the NFL and the top college FB competition.

campos has to be a big sucka!!!!!

Wasn't this kid a huge ISU fan or am I thinking of someone else?

I just don't buy it that it is any differnt than years past. Go look at Missouri's past recruiting classes. A lot of their top recruits come from Missouri. This is no different this year. It is not like they are going from the Mountain West to the SEC. They are going from the Big 12 to the SEC.

If true, that hurts the most IMO. I feel like this program has gained enough respect to not only get a fair share of instate recruits against Iowa but to at least not lose kids that are Cyclone fans on top of that. It's one thing if Campos committed to Alabama, or heck even Oregon offered him a schollie but Mizzou!?!? Ouch.
