Re: Premature Preview: The Iowa Hawkeyes
Could the mods please edit? I believe what Chris meant to call this thread was: "Premature Preview: Iowa State's Super Bowl." -

Iowa will win the BCS National Championship this year.
(possibly the superbowl depending on how many/what former Iowa players on playing on the opposing team)
Someone had to do it. Originally Posted by hawkeyeh8r not everyone that plays college football wants to go pro..thats probably part of why ISU sends fewer players to the draft than Iowa does -

Aug - Freshmen showing up. Kirk mentions one of their names. That addition is what is needed to get over the top. 10 wins easy.
Media Day - Look at how big those guys got over the summer. They could sweep the Big10.
Opening week - If Kirk doesn't win a national title with this team he should be fired.
[B]After week 2 loss- Lucky to finish 1-11.[B]
You can't predict a national title out of the gate. It's a process. -

Well the thing Iowa has going for it is that when they start out with high expectations they typically are pretty mediocre. When people expect them to do nothing, there pretty good. Time will tell, but I see Iowa as a 7-5 team at the least, possibly 8 wins

Wide range of possibilities for Iowa..

Then where do find wins at Michigan, MSU, Northwestern and Indiana.
Could reasonably see anywhere from 5-9 wins. Anything beyond that either way seems some really weird things happened (good or bad).

I've got them solidly favored in 6 games, with 3 toss-ups and solid underdogs against Michigan, Michigan State and Nebraska. If they win all the winnable games, 9 wins is not out of the question.

And at home, they should beat ISU, but that doesn't mean they will.

Re: Premature Preview: The Iowa Hawkeyes
I don't think you can say Iowa will lose one game they shouldn't this year. New coaches. It may also mean they may not win one they shouldn't either. Iowa played up or down to their opponents most of the time, but now we have different variables with new coaches. Iowa will have new players in their two deeps, but they have recruited well and they should win 8-9 games with that schedule.

My brother will be so mad at me. I just got the admonishment to spread rep around regarding a hawk poster. "There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr -

I have to admit, this has been a lot more entertaining thread than I was expecting when I first clicked on the link. Bravo gentlemen. Bravo.
Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.
