I have heard that the reason was something odd. I don't know what it was, just that it was an odd reason to pick one school over the other. I would say there's a small chance if that info is correct but at the same time, you don't commit that early if it's that close.
I participated in the non-padded 8th grade division. Karter Ewing is massive, his team warmed up right next to mine. Jake Campos was there, CPR gave him a ride to practice on his gator. There was a kid named Ganzara or something who ran a 4.44 in the 40 and CPR was talking to him. CycloneReport had a report saying a 2014 kid got offered, his helmet said "Millers" on it, there were multiple members of his team there. Allen Lazard, 2014 was there.
Says on Campos's Rivals page that he committed to Mizzou already
Didn't Lazard pretty much shut down Darboh when they played? He'd be a huge get. SUCKS that LSU is sniffing around. With all the talent down south, why the heck are they looking in Iowa?
Depends if you consider 10 catches for 170 yards "shutting down."
Don't get me wrong, he's a talented kid and I would love to have him in cardinal and gold, but I'm pretty sure that was a career high for Darboh.
He did provide safety help over the top as the game wore on, and got a pick that way on a pass to Amara.
Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.
