No but all have been low profile players out of high school. Texas is loaded with 4 and 5 star players, how have they been doing lately? You cant teach size and speed. That is one thing Rhoads has been targeting. But it all comes back to coaching. Rhoads can coach up talent where other coaches cant.

We won't consistently be in the top 5 recruiting classes. We could get there every so often but it won't be a consistent thing, at least for awhile.
This is accurate, but winning can change all that.

ISU was ranked as the 87th best recruiting class. It is not insane to think they should be able to move up to around 50-60.
lol, I chose to ignore this. I follow football recruiting in my free time and I studied ISU, KSU, and KU since I believed we had a better class, and to my discovery we actually do have a better class than both. Rivals points have been set up where you get more points for a commit ranked in state and in the positioning rankings. I found that ISU had more recruits than KU or KSU ranked in both in-state and positional, but for whatever reason we are ranked below them. Therefore I refuse to say KU or KSU had a better class.

ISU-9 state ranked, 6 position ranked
KSU-6 state ranked, 2 position ranked
KU--4 state ranked, 0 position ranked

it'll never make sense to me.

Part of their formula also has to do with numbers, bigger class = higher ranked class usually. And also, don't schools get more points based on the position. For example, aren't DTs and QBs worth more points than an equally ranked DB or Olinemen?

And, I agree with you that I like our class better than KU's or Purple Kansas. Just look at the rankings, the offers for those players, and the size/potential of ISU's players.

Somewhat, they count the top 20 recruits. The position is somewhat broken up like that, because you can't have a 10th rank FB with offers from Bowling Green and Ohio be worth as much as the 10th ranked CB with offers from all the blue bloods. That shouldn't affect ISU vs KSU though

    KSU ranked players-
    Aderius Epps #42 ranked Guard
Tavarious Bender #20 dual threat QB

ISU ranked at KSU players position-
    Duaron Williams-#33 ranked Guard
    Grant Rohach- #28 pro-style QB

    also ranked
    PJ Harris- #93 WR
    Damein Lawry- #38 ATH
    Quan West- #70 WR
    Darius White-#70 LB

For the record-I did't mean we could have better classes. I was just saying they won't be ranked there. We just won't get the 4 and 5 stars of the world on a consistent basis. That doesn't mean we can't get guys that are 3 stars who end up producing more like a 4 or 5. That's what ISU will have to do and I think the staff has done a nice job recognizing that in certain cases they won't overcome perception and instead of wasting time recruiting guys like that, they have spent oodles of time uncovering guys everyone doesn't know about.

Or maybe CPR is making a huge reach in offering this kid. Both opinions are valid at this point, as we won't know whether or not this kid pans out for at least a year, maybe 2.

But not really because it's June. It's not like he was scrambling to round someone up and just threw it out there. This was a guy they wanted, not needed.

Well he has taken "nobody's" according to recruiting sites and formulated one of the better defenses in the Big 12. So what is a reach to Rhoads, someone who, in is his mind, is a good fit? Sign the kid up if he fits what Rhoads is bringing in. Almost all of our wins last year were against schools who statistically recruit better than us. Look at Texas Tech, we cant get close to the them in recruiting according to Rivals but we continue to beat their heads in on the field.
