Re: RECRUITING: Joel Lanning
Just caught the segment that Murph and Andy were talking about these comments. Made it sound like us Cyclones are all butt hurt over his statements. Where are these comments?

Where are these comments? Yeah thats what made me think about it. I figured there was a thread here on it, but didn't see anything.

Re: RECRUITING: Joel Lanning
Sounds like if Iowa offered he would be there - he certainly doesn't sound all that excited to be a Cyclone. At this point if Iowa offered and he bolted I would care about as much as he seems to care about being a Cyclone - not much.

Re: RECRUITING: Joel Lanning
Will be interesting to see what happens if Iowa offers late to round out the class. Kid looks like he could be a pretty good athlete.

That video seems to show that he's a pretty laid back kid and doesn't get excited about much. I grew up a Hawkeye fan as well. Give the kid a chance to grow up and see the light.

Actually, it sounded like Hassel the hok homer trying to make something into nothing. He never said he would go to Iowa if offered, just that he grew up a squawk fan.
If the hoks do at some point and he ditches us, like Hill, oh well. He actually seemed pretty cocky in that clip. And not good cocky.

Re: RECRUITING: Joel Lanning
Easy fellas.. Playing the "I never really thought he was that good anyway" card just in case he ditches us? As of right now he is coming to ISU.

Re: RECRUITING: Joel Lanning
Nothing wrong with what the kid said, but one really has to question WHO's/Hassles motive. Is it standard for WHO to report on commits to Iowa or ISU from the angle of speculating as to where they wished they were going? When Iowa receives a commit, are they going to frame it in the context that "Commit prefers to go to X, settles for Iowa"?

I dont see anything he said that is a problem whatsoever. Media (or even message board posters) making something out of absolutely nothing.

Steele Jantz and Jared Barnett probably didn't grow up ISU fans either....

I think that the reporter put some words in his mouth making assumptions about what he would've done if...
I am not too worried.
