The argument that the SEC had the 1-3 teams at one point last year is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. I believe Arkansas hadn't played LSU at that point, so there was no way that they were going to end up 1, 2, & 3. I agree that's the best model as long as the six auto conference champs are the highest ranked conference champs with no AQs for six specific conferences.
The MWC and even WAC and CUSA champs have been ranked higher than ACC and Big East champs quite frequently. That part of the BCS needs to die a quick and final death, never to return.

I agree that Big Ten media hype brain fart has never been louder than the season they were FREAKING OUT about #1 and #2 when they were actually more like #5 and #6.
But the four team system would have still sorted that out. The insanely overrated Big Ten teams would have still lost in the first round and not played int he championship. The difference is two more deserving non-Big Ten teams would have had a chance at a championship.
2006 is probably the biggest reason Big Ten brass hate the idea of ANY playoff that's not voted on and supported a stupid +1 voted bowl. They know even a four team playoff exposes them in a way that voting doesn't.

Good Point, if you're in a power conference this should be a non issue.
