Re: Ted Lampkin Giving Up Football, Transferring to Nebraska

I was excited to see this guy, but obviously it wasn't to be. Best of luck, Teddy!

I always thought he would make a great football player in a Jarvis West role.
I agree, I figured he would fit into the Jarvis role or at least a return man if he didn't turn out as a WR.

Doubt he ever plays football at Nebraska. If he's on athletic scholarship and plays football it would count against the football allotment. They changed that rule years ago when the southern schools put football players on track scholarships

He was doing pretty good here at track I think. A hurdler I thought.

All Big 12 Long Jumper according to the article.
Doesn't mention hurdles at all but he could've been.

Kind of reminds me how half our football team went out for baseball one year, and then quit after 2-4 games.

    Why?

They'd racked up a good deal of "boys will be boys" offenses in the winter, like curfew violations, under-aged possession, truancy, etc., and they used the baseball games (that they didn't want to play in anyways) to burn off their suspensions of performances for football season.

Smart when they wanted to be.

Still funny to see the fat ones in baseball pajamas, though.
