No hazing that I know of. The Kappas and the Tau Betas have initiation things, but not hazing.
As a Kappa Kappa Psi alum I can assure you nothing that happens in that organization (at least the ISU chapter) comes close to hazing. As for the band in general, I'm sure there's been dumb **** that probably shouldn't have happened, but nothing at the level of the culture of hazing you hear from places like FAMU.
No, but I think the misleading title will be the response you get.
We just give the freshmen our trash at dinner...but other than that nothing much really goes on. And if there is stuff that goes on, it's no where even near that situation!
This one time....at band camp.....

Here to post another comment of 'no hazing, as far as i know of', either in the band or TBS\KKY. Plenty of drinking from day 1, but no hazing (and no one is forced to participate in said prolific drinking).
And yeah... mods, can we get a thread title change?
I am pretty sure if there was serious hazing it would be kept on the down low and not be posted on forums.
I don't know about "ever" but I can assure you that there wasn't any through MOST of the 90's...plenty of other stuff, but no hazing.
maybe initiation type things or parties with drinking. but generally if you don't want to drink you don't have to
I enjoy the things that the ISUVMB does, but it'd be awesome to go see some of these black college marching bands live.
Welcome to Band Club. The first rule of Band Club is: you do not talk about Band Club. The second rule of Band Club is: you DO NOT talk about Band Club! Third rule of Band Club: someone yells "stop!", goes limp, taps out, the song is over. Fourth rule: only two guys to a song. Fifth rule: one song at a time, fellas. Sixth rule: No shirts, no shoes. Seventh rule: songs will go on as long as they have to...or until halftime is over. And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time at Band Club, you have to march.
