I thought he's been cleared for awhile but there was risk. What I had heard was that he would be cleared but there will be risk and it will ultimately be up to him to make the decision. Perhaps the risk has decreased.

There was RAG article in April that state the final determination by the doctor would be in July. I haven't shelled out money to the RAG so I can't link the story.

Shontrelle Johnson's future still undecided.
Iowa State will have to wait until July to find out whether or not tailback Shontrelle Johnson will be cleared to play in 2012. Johnson's 2011 season was cut short by a neck injury in the game against Texas on Oct. 1, 2011. (The Des Moines Register)

Man, If I was him I don't know if I would play again. That is a scary injury. I wonder if he will be kind of tentative at first about getting hit? Could be a few games before he gets back to his old self.

Don't worry... That means he'll be extra good at his jukes to ensure he doesn't ever get touched on his way to the end zone

I'm guessing the coaching staff will make him take some hits in practice before going into the game. That should help him with any timidness that he might have right now

If they run more of the Diamond formation that they ran last year they can have three of them on the field at the same time!

FYI, this was the basic look of our diamond formation. We didn't run it a ton, but I would love to see more of it with our 2012 stable of backs.

True, but my gut tells me that 'Trelle may be more of a gamer - even after his injury - than we are all giving him credit for.
