Pre Two a Days Linebackers
Linebackers
Knowns
How does it get much more “known” than Knott and Klein? Jevohn Miller, Jeremiah George and nickel backs Deon Broomfield and C.J. Morgan are all solid.
Questions
We don’t know what Jake Knott looks like completely healthy. Can the two seniors stay healthy? Can Morgan handle the outside spot in non-nickel packages?
Mystery Meat
The incoming freshmen. Might one or more among Darius White, Adam Pavlenko or Kane Seeley spend a season on special teams—as Knott and Klein did? After all, they’ll be needed in ’13.
tentative grade: 9.0/9.5
*flip a coin. Yep, I was almost tempted to give this spot a "10", but injuries are a lingering specter, depth (and Morgan as a straight up OLB) are a question.
Re:Pre Two a Days Linebackers
This is one area where I would give a ten. ISU has two elite linebackers and very capable guys also in the mix. If you can't give this group a ten, ten is not really on the table.
Re: Pre Two a Days Linebackers
I agree, almost a 10. Just the injury part worries me.

You say that like there's something wrong with that?

I guess a team can never have enough positional elite players unless that position is QB.
Re: Pre Two a Days Linebackers
Jevohn Miller will fill in nicely solid kid and learning from the best!

The freshman from Phoenix (Mesa)PAVLENKO is a real stud-plays smart and hits a ton-not a beast @ 6' 200 but made the HS highlights on TV more than once here.

Actually, on signing day they listed him as 5'10 210. The interesting thing being that CPR and Wally (as I recall) both repeatedly said in those signing day videos that he will strictly be a weakside linebacker--Jake's spot.
Then there's Darius White, who went from being a no stars guy when we first recruited him, to getting a Miami offer and being among Rivals' ranked linebackers. And Kane Seeley, who is an athlete who Wally will take under his wing. In some ways, he reminds me a lot of Knott and Klein.
Now, if these guys will just be ready to help next fall, that would be great.

WHAT?? Our lousy no-star recruiting resulted in landing an athlete who was offered by Miami. Say it ain't so, Joe!

Didn't wanna start a new thread for this, but did anyone notice that Adam Pavlenko is no longer on the roster? http://www.cyclones.com/SportSelect....53&SPSID=48388
Could it just be a typo?

His name is on the printable roster, so I am guessing it is a typo.
