LJ Giving ISU some love at the Bucs' training camp

Gotta love when our guys give ISU a shout-out. Makes you feel good to know they loved their time here.

Love LJ, he's one of the good guys for sure.

I remember being at the UNLV away game - I was so ****** that day at his personal fouls. It's amazing to think of the way he focused his energy since then.

Love LJ, and he defiantly never got as bad as that UNLV game out in Vegas, but he was still making bone-headed decisions last year. His stupid personal foul penalty immediately lead to a Texas TD that completely removed all energy for JTS last year.

Hopefully that's something he can overcome with some even more intense coaching and a little age (and a big paycheck on the line). You're right, it's something he never completely got over (although he did get way better).
There's the helmet-to-helmet against Iowa his freshman year... wasn't he knocked out cold on that one?

LJ's motor on the field doesn't have a dial, it's on or off, and that gets him in trouble. But as far as LJ the man, everything I've ever heard is positive so I really hope he sticks somewhere.

Yeah I sitll call BS on that one. LJ was jawwing at Shipley and Shipley stood up into him. The helmet contact was incidental. If they wanted to give LJ a penalty for talking smack, ok, but I personally don't believe LJ head butted him on purpose. He knows how important that game was for himself and the team. I don't think LJ even moved his head forward, I think SHipley helmet met LJs. I'll have to watch a replay of the game agian sometime. For some reason, that's not the most rewatched game for me.

There are guys with great motors who never get a personal foul penalty called on them. It can't be written off to that. Johnson did mature in his four years at ISU and will hopefully continue to do that.

That pic reminds me of me on vacation. Whether flying or a roadtrip, I'm always rocking my ISU gear!

I wasn't at that game, so I only got the TV angle (which looked like helmet-to-helmet, but I'd trust someone in-person more). The only thing I've always wondered is why LJ would have been knocked out if it was just a good hit, not with his helmet.

If I remember right it was helmet to sternum, but LJ's head was down rather than up like it should be so the hit knocked him out for a sec.

I always wondered how it would have worked on a clean hit, the physics of that make more sense than if his head were properly positioned.

Wasn't Moeaki on the receiving end?
-
Re: LJ Giving ISU some love at the Bucs' training camp
LJ actually led with his shoulder. Moeaki dipped his head last second and they hit hit helmet-to-helmet. Both were stunned. It was close as to whether the ball was out before his knee hit the ground. It was a game-changer.
I don't bring my own opinions, just attack others.
