3. I cannot take time off of work in Feb, May July or Nov.
4. You're really testing your luck to have a winter wedding in Iowa...blizzards and such. So that axes Dec, Jan, Feb, and March is fairly iffy.
After removing Feb May July and Nov for work restrictions and the rest of CF's Rules of Weddings, I'm basically left with April, or June where everything is already booked and price gouged out the ***.
So I have to pick one of 4 April dates, dancing around Easter, and I'm sure someone somewhere has kids that has one of those weird April spring break things and I would "ruin their family getaway" if I dared schedule a wedding over it.
So 2 floating April dates are acceptable. Everyone take note. Oh, boo hoo. Book it in June or August. You forgot the entire 8th month of the year.

Yeah but what if the game you miss is Okie St. like magnitude game. I know that was a Friday night but I think had people missed that game because a wedding there would be some animosity. I do get what your saying, but like another poster said never do same day as ISU/Iowa or a home game.

A lot of people take vacations in August. Then they ***** about missing their annual booze trip to Mexico for a stupid wedding...
Decided that what was more convenient for getting most of our relatives/out of state family in town was more important than the half dozen or so people with season tickets.

Wedding > football game.
It's more important.

Re: STOP putting your weddings on Cyclone FB weekends!!
if a football game is more important to you than whomever is getting married, both parties will probably be happier if you aren't there.
oh, and Sept/Oct are two of the most popular months for wedding due to weather and venue availability. And some people don't care about football.

Re: STOP putting your weddings on Cyclone FB weekends!!
We got married on 10/9/10 - the same date as the Utah game that year. I'm sure we had some people skip out because of this but we had a blast even without those mouth breathing jersey chasers.
We planned the wedding on a vacant weekend but the schedule changed and we got stuck. I can remember one of the hillbilly, low rent salespeople in the office laughing his *** off at my "misfortune". He wasn't invited because he was a tool and he probably wouldn't have come anyway.
Point is, if you put a game before your family or friendships, you have to have some serious priority problems.

Well since my phone won't quote Tarbox's full statement for some reason, I will say that I agree fully with his last paragraph. Family and friends > football, and it's not even close.

By some of the posts, I would bet quite a few of you won't have to worry about getting married.

Re: STOP putting your weddings on Cyclone FB weekends!!
I think most people are joking to an extent about skipping the weddings for games and such, at least I am.
But it does suck that some weddings are on game days.

A good friend of mine was the golf pro at Sunnyside CC in Waterloo and one of the things that he taught in his junior golf lessons, was that to no have a wedding on a Saturday during football season.

I don't mean that, but if you're going to make statements like that you should expect some in return.
