FB Locker Room & Training Facility
Yesterday, I drove by the new locker room and training facility. I had not been to Ames since last winter. I was pleasantly surprised to see the facility from the north side (4th street) because the web cam does not do it justice. The new building blends in well with the Bergstrom indoor practice field - same exterior surface on the north side plus the height is good where the building drops to one-story on the south end.
The new tunnel comes into the stadium on the north side of the NW column for the the video board. Earth work is still needed to get that burm and walkway ready for the football season.

Some say there were too many underground cables and wires in the hillside there? How difficult would it have been to re-route these cables, etc?
Not to derail this thread, but this tunnel is just dumb.

Heard a rumor that the tunnel is nicknamed, "The Funnel."

Re: FB Locker Room & Training Facility
I thought I heard that they were now planning on moving the tunnel opening down by the field, as the utilities aren't as big a problem as once thought.

Isn't that how the Roman Coliseum worked? Gladiators, Lions, Christians and Cowboys, anyone?
