I picked half-time because that is traditionally when stadiums tend to empty out. I personally think it's ridiculous to pay for a game then to leave early regardless of circumstances. But yet it happens. It happened at other games during the year, and it didn't happen here. For which we can all be grateful for.

I probably would have if the weather was a typical November evening. Since it was so nice we figured we'd stay for a while. Plus, we got the bottomless bucket of popcorn and you can't just give that up.

At 24-7, only down 17 points, but they way OSU scored that TD to get to 24 points, it really seemed like that was the point where OSU was going to pull away and not look back. I think most, myself included figured we would give ISU a chance to keep us there, and they did. James White scores on the next series. and then ISU immediately recovered the onside. Had ISU not scored and then immediately went down 31-7, I probably would of considered leaving.

I let them know that Weeden wasn't getting the Heisman after that night!

Re: ISU/OSU @ half - why did YOU stay?
Having re-watched it, I hope you saw what I did that night. The team was playing pretty well in the first half...well enough that it felt like the game was within reach just by eliminating a few mistakes. The crowd was wild too. I just felt like something was in the mix.

Re: ISU/OSU @ half - why did YOU stay?
Even when we are down at half by a lot I always get that glimmer of hope that we will come back... I had the feeling that night of the OSU game and my gut feeling was right.
To be fair I had the same feeling during the 2011 Texas game, 2009 Iowa game and 2010 Utah game... So I guess I was just lucky that this time it panned out.
I WAS THERE!!!!!! -

Last home game of the year.
“I told you, I don’t care if you’re black or white. I don’t care if you’re rich or poor. I don’t care where you come from, whether it’s Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I don’t care about any of that… But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads -

I'm the same way...hope that adjustments are made at halftime. However, when it becomes apparent that nothing is going to change, I tend to give up.

What compelled you to stay at the game despite the score heading into half-time?
I hope we can carry that fan mentality no matter the situation this coming season.
We were behind but a comeback still doable if we made the right plays. it's not like the Texas game where we were down 5 touchdowns at the half and had no shot.

Re: ISU/OSU @ half - why did YOU stay?
Because I buy tickets for a full game. I don't leave early.
Honestly I never felt like we were ever out of that game anyway.

Re: ISU/OSU @ half - why did YOU stay?
Because (like whoever said it before) I sat through the entire Texas catastrophe in 2007. And the absolutely miserable Missouri game in 2008 (that's the only one I ever wanted to leave early--the weather sucked, we were hapless on the field, just not a good day).

Re: ISU/OSU @ half - why did YOU stay?
Absolutely gorgeous night for football. I had my doubts when the score got to be 24-7. I remember remarking to our group that the comeback would be that much sweeter coming from behind that far. Plus there was something magical about that night. You could feel it.
Greatest game I have ever seen. Absolutely awesome.

My friend and I had a score limit. If OSU got up by 30 or something we would leave.

The Mizzou game in 04 was so much worse. I thought I was going to die of hypothermia.

Re:ISU/OSU @ half - why did YOU stay?
Like others I stay for the whole game, every game. I have been apart of enough come from behind wins by the clones to always stay, and I'm clone to the bone. One of the main reasons for this attitude: at Iowa 2002. Now granted my friend and I were quite inebriated and the iowa staff would not help us to our seats, we left at half time (tired of standing at the end zone play clock). Upon returning to our friends dorm we realized we missed one hell of a come back. I never want to miss that type of performance again.
Two of my other favorite come from behind wins were vs Colorado when we were down by 21 at the half and at KSU when we scored 3 or 4 TDs in 8 mins in the 4th quarter.
