ISU/OSU @ half - why did YOU stay?
Re-watching the game today, and it had me thinking about something. I'm damn proud that the cyclone nation held together through the OSU game, and that we didn't empty out of the stadium with our heads between our tails when the going got tough. However, I have been to some games where it the scores are close to the what they were at half-time and nearly half the stadium leaves. What compelled you to stay at the game despite the score heading into half-time?
I hope we can carry that fan mentality no matter the situation this coming season.

I was trying to score with this girl I met earlier in the day tailgating.
Not sure what sealed the deal, my game or the football game? I'm going with the latter.

Re: ISU/OSU @ half - why did YOU stay?
My friend wanted to leave and just stay at the tailgate, but cyclonefan_1 and I said there was no way that we'd walk out early on the last home game of the season. We didn't necessarily expect any comeback, but nevertheless wanted to stay loyal to the guys out there.

Because I don't leave early unless I have to. I sat through the entire Texas debacle in 2007, OSU was easy.

Because those are people's sons out there -

Re: ISU/OSU @ half - why did YOU stay?
Because I stay the whole game, every game. Drives the wife nuts. But, it makes nights like that worth it. I figure if they can give me the pride and joy in a game like that, I can sit through a few blowouts...

Re: ISU/OSU @ half - why did YOU stay?
I had expected to be down about 30 at half, and was thinking I'd probably leave early if that happened. But I was impressed with how we played. We didn't just fold like we did against Missery, or like we did against Utah in 2010 or oSu in 2009 (the only two games I've left early while an ISU student). I felt like, while we would still probably lose, we were still very much in the game. A couple breaks go our way in the first half (such as the pick 6), and we're actually winning. The guys were playing their ***** off, no way I was going to leave.

This was 17-7. It didn't look great, but there was still a chance.

Re: ISU/OSU @ half - why did YOU stay?
Because regardless of the score at half, we showed we still had plenty of ability to be in the game.

Re: ISU/OSU @ half - why did YOU stay?
Because the band director wouldn't let me leave.
In all seriousness, even though we were down, we were only down by 10pts to the #2 team at half, and this high scoring team was only held to 17pts so far? That's a really good game, especially for us.

Because the game was reasonably close. Honestly we outplayed Oklahoma State in the first half, but we had a few bad breaks or else we would have been in the lead so there was no way I was going to leave at that time. At 24-7 me and my brother thought about leaving, but we ended up staying. Now the rest is history.

Re: ISU/OSU @ half - why did YOU stay?
Because we were only down 10...

Re: ISU/OSU @ half - why did YOU stay?
I can't lie...I was totally pumped to only be down 10. I really didn't have dreams of winning but I was very excited we played as well as we did that first half.

Re: ISU/OSU @ half - why did YOU stay?
While I wasn't there I have only left one game early. That was the OSU game in '85 I think, and it was COLD. Sad that I left since we won that game as well.
