Does anywhere else in Iowa have a voice coming through the siren speakers saying "This is a monthly test, etc."? They do down here in Wapello County. I've lived in Illinois and Nebraska, and just moved to Iowa beginning of this year. Freaked me the heck out when it happened the first time.

My hometown and the entire county (Waukesha County, WI) tests the tornado sirens every Saturday at noon. I was one time umpiring a baseball game and the siren right by the field went off right at noon like clockwork. Had to reassure the coaches that it was a normal test and we could continue to play.

...This is a test... and only a test....(for high blood pressure and an aneurism...)

... I do like homemade beef jerky though (no deer crap)

First Tuesday of every month, at 10:00, I get to hear the glorious sound of sirens. Sounds like.... victory.

You should move to Roland then. They use the siren everyday for the noon lunch alert and the 6pm dinner alert.
