I have serious doubts as to whether those are actually coach's quotes.
The only team they really dog on is Kansas too much and most of that is just on everything Gill did there. Like the previous poster, who knows whether they are actually from a coach or not I guess. For all we know, it may be pretty much one Big 12 coach total giving his one opinion on every team.
Agreed.
Does this whole thing seem like something anyone would say? "Subsequently"? How he rattles off the first three games of the schedule off the top of his head? And can you imagine anyone verbally saying "they were torched for at least 40 points in eight of 12 games."? It seems like some dork just typed it up and put quotes around it.Quote:
By bringing Weis on board and subsequently Notre Dame transfer Dayne Crist, the Jayhawks will have an immediate upgrade at quarterback. Is there enough talent around Crist to give him a chance to do any damage? That’s doubtful and it certainly doesn’t help that running back James Sims was suspended for the first three games against South Dakota State, Rice and TCU.
Crist’s exploits on offense likely won’t matter much if the Jayhawks can’t shore up a porous defense. Last year, they were torched for at least 40 points in eight of 12 games. That is not easy to do.
This honestly is not to dog on the article at all. I actually do love a good backhanded compliment. And weather or not it actually came from other coaches really doesn't matter as this one ranks right up there with some of the best I've read.

I love Paul Rhoads. He gets the absolute best out of every player and gives Iowa State the chance to win more games than they have any business winning.
