Phil Steele thinks
Iowa's Linebacking group is better than Iowa States... Funny
Iowa: 32
ISU: 35
I get its the entire group, but not a chance.
Also I like the mag more than any others, but he doesnt make individual game predictions, and that is annoying to me.
Iowa
Kirksey, Morris, and hitchens
Iowa State
AJ, Jake, and CJ Morgan? Although Kirksey and Morris are decent, im pretty sure any coaching staff would prefer our starting 3.

Re: Phil Steele thinks
I don't give a flying frack about what someone who doesn't think it's worth his time to do some actual research thinks.
Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this. -
Re: Phil Steele thinks
He has no idead what he's talking about, I'm sure he's stuck on the fact Iowa has had better linebackers in th past

Re: Phil Steele thinks
I think that Phil Steele gets more hype and credit than he deserves. He's basically a stat guy predicting CFB for gamblers. He's been wrong on ISU by 2+ games every year under CPR. As for LBs, I think that Kirksey is a really good player, even though he's undersized. Morris is overrated from the hype he had coming in. He's good, but not great...just not fast enough. Hitchens is basically untested. In comparison, Klein was Co-B12 DPY last year and Knott is two time all-conference. And that is in a conference that was better than the B11 the past two years. George is untested, but no more than Hitchens for the most part. I'd take ISU's group any day of the week and most knowledgeable people would agree...not that iowa is poor at LB by any means.

Re: Phil Steele thinks
Give me Knott, Klein, and Kirksey. That would be the best linebacking corps in the country.

Whuh? There's more actual research in Phil Steele's magazine than all the others combined, by a large margin. It's an orgy of research. Whether you agree with his conclusions is different, but holy **** on a shingle, you can't say he doesn't do research.

Everybody is truly thinking this. "Suck a d Mr. Steele."

Morris played hurt pretty much all year last year and still tied for the team lead in tackles. You are going to see a completely different player with him this year. Every NFL scouting website I have seen says Morris is pretty much a lock to be a top 100 pick in the draft. Iowa has an incredibly athletic linebacking corps, and with the amount of teams in the B1G that have switched to a more spread offense it should be a group that serves the team very well.
