*Maggit is smaller than I remember at 6'3" 244, about the same size as Willie Scott who I considered undersized at 6'2" 242
* Our underclassmen have some really, really nice size. Especially our LBers, Dline, and Oline. Really encouraging considering McKnight seems to be very good at putting on good football weight as opposed to just adding weight for the sake of it. But Scott was 6'2" 231--so I'll take it as a positive that he's finally put on some weight. I've seen Rhoads saying he hasn't arrived yet, saying that he's "struggling" is different from anything I've heard.

Yeah, I was actually pretty happy with Scott getting up to 242, but a little disappointed with Maggitt at 244. A couple of numbers that caught my eye: Jake Knott at 252 and David Irving at 280. Those are NFL sizes for their positions...something that ISU has RARELY had anywhere except the OL. Also really happy with the size of some of the TRFR. CPR is bringing in some players.

I think he said something along the lines of "he is progressing slower than we would like him to". That is about the most negative statement Rhoads has made about a player all camp. Coach Bray was asked about him in a later interview I believe.
Don't get me wrong, I am driving the David Irving bandwagon, but at this moment it looks like he could have used a redshirt year last year.

But, it wouldn't surprise me if, in hindsight, the coaches think a RS year may have been nice for Brackens and Miller as well, and that, along with the progression of Brun and Bundrage in their RS years is a big reason we aren't seeing true freshman play this year. *ducks head*
