I don't think anyone is surprised. I really don't. I don't think there is 1 Cyclone fan that thought Barnett would 100% be the starter for Tulsa.

I am that Cyclone fan. I will also add that every media publication I have read, outside of CF, had JB as the favorite to win it too. Just seemed more likely with what we have as a body of work from both guys, JB's upside of playing 3 years would bode well for the immediate future of ISU. This season will be a huge challenge with the experience we are going to face "in conference" but, we would return the most experienced and game-tested QB in the Big 12 over the next 2 seasons. However, I see many are hoping we regress back to QB competitions over the next few years. That will definitely elevate us in the Big 12 rankings. But, like I've said in all my previous posts, I'm glad we have a starter so we move forward. I predicted a bowl season with JB as the starter, I'm staying with that prediction with SJ.

I'm glad that you like this. This is kind of my vision of CFTV going forward. We don't want to compete with Cyclones.TV. We can't compete with that kind of access. But since we aren't tied into the university, we can analyze/give opinions and I feel like on the scene videos like this might be the way to go. I'd like to mix in interviews with media members, coaches and players as well.

I'm that fan. I thought Barnett was going to be the starter for sure. He played tougher opponets, actually has Big 12 wins and played well as a Freshman. Jantz's early-game mistakes buried us last year. I thought for sure that by getting benched in the bowl game was a message to Barnett to light a fire under his butt to help him perform better in the pre-season.

I am getting behind SJ though. I am a believer that a guy can really clean up his game and clear his mind about the past. He is a very capable QB. He can be a leader too. I hope he performs well immediatly against Tulsa and we move on in a positive direction this season.

Indeed. Let's move forward and do the best we can. As you have said consistently, now we can let the offense practice with no doubt about the starting QB in mind.

Keep JB ready! I expect that both SJ and JB will have opportunities to prove themselves on the field this year.
