New USC Football Facility
We are all looking forward to seeing ISU's new football facility. I thought some might be interested to see the new facility USC just opened. It features and underground practice field. I'm not really sure why that is needed in L.A., but whatever. Images of USC's new John McKay Center - CBSSports.com
Scroll down, by the way.

Re: New USC Football Facility
Wow, I don't know what I was expecting, but in terms of functionality I really like what the ISU facility is shaping up to be a lot more than what USC just laid out. USC spent a lot of money on building materials like the stone portal entrance and the stone work in the atrium. Not to mention the outdoor fireplace in the outdoor lounge.
The indoor field being underground and not having a high ceiling limits what you can do to things like walk through kind of activities. It really doesn't allow for running a full practice like Bergstrom does. I prefer the high ceilings of the new ISU weight room to theirs which seems somewhat crowded.
Given the option between the 2 I would take Iowa State's new facility. Seems to have been a lot more thought taken with the functionality. Only thing USC has there I'd absolutely want is an AP national trophy to put in the lounge. I prefer the ISU lockerroom, training room, and weight room. They spent a ton on the frills.

Also, it is not connected to the stadium they play their games in, but then quite a few teams put up with that I guess.

It looks to me like USC built a very "pretty" facility that cost a lot of money.....probably helps them to raise more money from their crowd. I just don't get the underground practice field at all.......especially not in L.A. Yes, it can rain there in the Fall, but not that often.
I thought it was funny too that this supposedly contains the academic services, but there are no pictures of that. Priorities!

Why do they have posters of Iowa State players in their locker rooms?

Here's a short video of it too, if anyone is interested. USC News --Never go to a doctor whose office plants have died. -

They also forgot to show the special ATM's for the players or the on site real estate agent. Perhaps those are only on the elite player's tours.

Woah, that is awesome! Can't wait to see ISU's when it is complete.

Re: New USC Football Facility
I would also take ISU's for the "functionality" but man that player lounge area looks sweet! Can't see too many recruits getting mad about that.
