I'm new to Chicago and will be heading to a bar for the game. What are the Cyclone bars in the area?

The Fizz is a great place to watch a game, I was there last thanksgiving with family and we went there to watch the game. There were quite a few ISU fans there. The owners themselves I don't think are ISU fans but they make ISU the priority for the TV's and sound. The food there is great as well, I recommend an order of fries with mayo truffle dipping sauce. Death never tasted so good

I have watched games at both bars, I prefer Corcorans over Fizz....if you end up going to Corcorans go to the backroom, thats where the majority of Cyclone fans watch the game.

How crowded do these places get? How early should I go with a friend to get a spot? I've only been to them for basketball, but I saw some pictures from the football meets that looked pretty crowded.

Corcorans can get pretty busy in the back room, i would get there an hour early if you want a table...you can watch the morning games that way. Fizz is way less busy and a bunch more tables so you can get there right at game time and be fine. There is a greater Cyclone atmosphere at Corcorans.
