    Re: ***Official Tulsa postgame thread***

ISU just plays different now. Lot more physical, defense swarms, so much more speed than say 5 years ago. Totally different. Good job for game 1.

Steele was pretty good but he holds the ball too long and he can't take that many sacks.

Iowa is slow as molasses and not good. We should kill them and would on a neutral field. But never underestimate their ability and luck to turn a game into a 12-10 wrestling match. Plus it is at home, you know some crap is going to go their way.

Still if we just come out and pound them, don't turn the ball over should be fine. They won't be able to score much.

Anybody saying ISU will roll next week has evidently forgotten last season's opener versus Northern Iowa.

Whoops, got distracted. I forgot to enjoy what happened today. I fully intended to come here and see discussion of the game today, not Iowa. So, here I go. Nice Job today Clones. We definitely had a couple of brain farts and looked dull at times, but really an impressive win considering we were underdogs in this game.

We are faster, and stronger, not relying on luck anymore. We have talent.

Not that this has any merit but I was playing NCAA 13 as ISU vs. Texas, the guy was trash talking the whole intro to the game, "you have no chance, etc"

I went up 10 - 0 he didn't speak anymore on his ghetto blutooth.

I was really impressed with the composure that we showed after that rough stretch giving up 16 straight. That shows a lot of maturity and good coaching. Really excited for the rest of the season

I think the biggest thing to take away from this is we scored 38 points. The only time we scored more than 30 points last year was in 2 OT games and 1 regular season game. If we can put points on the board at a good clip, defense plays well, we can compete very well in the Big 12.

Agreed. Putting up points has been tough for longer than I care to remember. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

Yes. God yes. We actually were able to put up points. I thought things went really well for the first time out. Steele was great, made a few mistakes but all correctable stuff. Much more accurate. D line got a better push as the game went on. Secondary I thought was outstanding again. Linebackers awesome as usual.

I really like how we are physical and you can see the speed showing up now. O line seemed ok, but not great.

    Very few penalties.

All in all very happy with the first game out. Good job Cyclones!

I was surprised our rushing production was mediocre.

Johnson + White put up 174 yds on 28 carries, which is ok for avg per carry, but it just seemed like we had more yards until I looked up the box score. Jantz only lost 9yds, even though he had some deep sacks and lost 37 yds on sacks.

We played well for a first game, I like how CPR isn't happy with things, he has top 25 aspirations.

We have a great coach and good team! Finally!
