Best Big 12 Game of the Week

Ubben said our game was the best Big 12 game of the week. He also said our 1st quarter was the worst quarter of the week..


Knott's forced fumble got honorable mention for "Best Play", while our safety got dishonorable mention for "Worst Play".

Paul Rhoads now has 19 wins at Iowa State, despite being favored in just eight games.

OU should get honorable mention for their first quarter vs UTEP. That was brutal.

Lots to say about ISU...good and bad

Definitely saw that different from what Ubben wrote...it was more like the score was closer than the game actually was (pretty sure he wasn't watching the game, except maybe when the box score was close). Yeah, sure, we spotted Tulsa a few points as we were trying to adjust in the First Quarter, but after that it we completely controlled the game, albeit conservatively (which is actually good for a season opener). But you knew the gameplan wasn't going to be to light Tulsa up...just to win.

That was the best I felt during an opener in a while.

Also didn't like the subtle "bar was low" comment...that didn't need to be said.

This. We were in absolute control of that game for the final 3 quarters. Tulsa did a great job early by capitalizing on their opportunities with the safety and interception, but that's it; the rest of the game was all ISU.

the dishonorable was well earned, I have never figured out why ISU runs out ot the shot gun in these tight situations, I was hoping this ended when Herman left. Maybe that will send a wake up call to the coaches.

Sad that a guy that only writes about football can't tell the difference between a draw and a counter..

I think that safety was more on Jantz running a bad zone read then it was being in the shotgun

I live in Dallas, want me to go slap him with a glove?

Is he handicapped, like in a wheelchair? (his picture always looks ****-eyed like he's sitting in one) That wouldn't be cool of me to say then.

This play was a straight counter. No zone read. Had a pulling guard coming through. Definitely just a bad call overall when you are on the 2 yard line.

everyone know to run a draw when you're backed up like that. Maybe we were going for strategery tricks, fail.
