Re: U of I attempts new slap in the face
I had a Hawk fan try to tell me that they may have lost, but at least they'll still get 8 wins and play in the Big 10. He then went on to rationalize how both the Big 10 and the Pac 12 were better football conferences than the Big 12....Unbelievable

Re: U of I attempts new slap in the face
In 2009 they were crowning UNI champions after it took a miracle to beat them. UNI went on to finish 3rd in their conference losing to Illinois State, SDS, Southern IL.

Re: U of I attempts new slap in the face
Two things we do know after week 2.
1.Northern IL defense is not quite as good Hawk fans claim.
2. UNI hanging with Wiskey not as impressive as we all thought.
I think both teams struggle to score early as Iowa's D is legit and Iowa's offense is not. In 2nd half Iowa takes over on pure size and talent. Iowa wins by 10 going away. 10-20
Group of Iowa fans drive to Austin, TX on Sunday to locate owners of www.firegregdavis.com and make offer to buy rights.

anytime a hok fan is in an arguement about how they are the third best team in the state is ok by me.

I guess that makes the hawks the worst team in the state, but we already knew that. So either the hawks can beat UNI, prove themselves wrong, and put us at the top by default. Or loose to UNI, prove they(the hawks) are the worst team in the state, and NOT prove that UNI is the best team in the state. Way to paint yourselves into a corner! I think in terms of success UNI has had at the level of competition they play, absolutely they are the best football team in the state. Are they they most talented team in the state? Absolutely not. However, I think they have proven throughout the past few years that they don't care and they will go toe to toe with the big boys and throw a few punches.

To take anything away from UNI for going into Camp Randall and walking out of there within in a touchdown is idiotic.

Sounds to me like he was saying that they nearly beat a BCS conference team but not necessarily one that deserved to be ranked, hence not as big of an accomplishment as previously thought. You said yourself Wisky isn't as great as everyone thought. If they were legitimately a top 15 or top 10 team that makes UNI's performance nearly off the charts. Well, not the case so just a great performance, not off the charts.

Re: U of I attempts new slap in the face
Their little slaps have stopped annoying me so much. We have gone 9-6 in FB recently including the last 2. We have won 3 in a row in MBB and have probably had the better of them or at least held our own in the last 20 years in that sport.
We just have to keep beating them and they will realize that we are no longer the little brother ala the 80's in football and 70's in MBB.

What is this "UNI" of which you speak? Do you mean Purple Hawkeyes?
No matter what, I could NEVER cheer for Dirt and Urine.
