If it is anything like the one that was in Austin, it'll be a great time. We all had a blast there and are looking forward to this one as well.
When you do get all the details done can you start a new thread so it won't be missed by some of us?
Thanks!

To MA's comments, I would add that the Pappas restaurants nearby are all terrific. These are Pappas Burgers, Pappadeaux (seafood) and Pappasitos (Tex-Mex). For the In n Out burger fans, there is one north on University at 7th.
I also agree that Jerry World (Cowboy Stadium) is worth the trip to Arlington to check out even for football fans that can't stand the Cowboys.
If you're into Western Art there are a couple of museums that you can check out. The Amon Carter has a bunch of Remingtons that are worth seeing.

The Flying Saucer is worth going to DFW for alone.
And I'd forgotten about Freds for burgers. It's this little tiki bar dive craphole in the middle of this high rise yuppie neighborhood. It's AWESOME

Well you can always go check out the stockyards during the day - go check out billy bobs and eat some BBQ. New place opened called Cooper's that I think might be the best BBQ in DFW.
One thing that some out of towners might enjoy is driving out to Arlington (20 minutes from downtown Fort Worth) and getting a tour of Cowboys stadium. It is actually pretty cool and get all sorts of facts about what makes this stadium the best in the country.
If you are willing to drive to Dallas during the day (about 40 minutes from downtown fort worth) you can go to the Kennedy 6th Floor Museum. There are also a ton of museums in fort worth's cultural district.
Also in Dallas, but might be really cool to go to is the State Fair of Texas. It runs from 9/28 -10/21. It is in the Fair Park area of Dallas. It is also about 40 minutes from downtown fort worth, but this is unlike any state fair you have ever been to. Amazing car show, awesome fried everything. It is pretty neat. You can check out the historic Cotton Bowl stadium. TCU-ISU is the week before the red river shootout.
If you are more just looking for a place to hang out and drink - the 7th street area is pretty cool. Lots of places with huge patios to hang out and drink. Capital Bar, Chimy's, Fred's, and a few others. It is also intermingled with a bunch of shops. There is a LuckyStrike Bowling Alley with a rooftop bar as well. It is pretty much a really nice bowling alley with an awesome bar. Very cool.
You could also check out downtown Forth Worth. There is a flying saucer with a huge patio downtown. This place has like 150 different beers. There is a place called Pete's Piano Bar that is open in the late afternoon through 2 AM. Not a typiical piano bar. Play rock, pop, country, etc. The whole crowd will sing along. Fun stuff.
We are staying between Campus and Downtown Fort Worth. Thanks for all the ideas.

If you're down here check out the JFK shooting scene near downtown Dallas. The Texas Book Depository Museum is like 15 bucks. You can walk around outside for free and skip the tour. (I've done the tour, but meh, it was more interesting watching JFK the movie the night before or stuff on youtube and walking behind the fence on the grassy knoll. They have glassed off the snipers nest area and staged boxes to solidify the conspiracy imo)
Lee Harvey Oswald's grave is in FT. Worth. I still need to go there, he was totally framed.

I want to Deley Plaza a number of years ago with a friend who it a top of the line sharp shooter. At that time, you could go right to the window that Oswald shot from, it's now in a plexiglass room. My friend hunts pheasants with a bow, shoots flys out of the air with rubber bands, crackerjack hunter, and is a not miss shot with any gun. He went to the window, looked at where Kennedy was shot and said "I could not have gotten him from here." Kind of interesting. I do think the museum in that building is worth seeing as is the site.

If you go to the JFK site you should look at hitting up the worlds largest Hooters, which isn't too far away.
