#3 Team in Total Defense So Far...Texas Tech

No, they haven't played anyone yet, as usual: Northwestern State, Texas State and New Mexico. Only giving up 160 ypg is impressive, however. 80 avg on the ground and through the air.

We've averaged 45+ points on them over the last two meetings.

    Something's gotta give!

TT plays a very aggressive, 9 guy in the box defense. Look for Isu to have some big plays when they break through the line.

We usually really struggle when teams realize they should just come after us and over-load the box. Our defense and ST are going to have to come up huge, as our offense is going to struggle imo.

If they take away our running game and make Steele have to make quick decisions we're in trouble

They played really bad teams that are run first offenses. They could cheat all they wanted and not really have to worry about getting burned. Our offensive line and WR's are too good to stack the box like that imo. I honestly see us jumping to an early lead due to their defense being over confident. The key is, we need to put together long drives and force their offense off the field as soon as possible. Keep them rattled and wear out that overrated defense.

My only worry is that if they are killing our run game and we are too stubborn to throw the ball early. I'm all for running if we can but if we need to go to the air early - do it!

I believe Tech has the #1 ranked defense and #2 ranked offense...no big whoop.

Well, heck. You guys should be OK. If history has taught us anything, it's that if a team comes into Ames ranked #2, they should just chalk up the win during the pregame warmups. No reason to even play the damn game.

BTW - please feel free to hang around after Saturday's game.....love your avatar.

I have congratulated you Clones on this board after the past two arse-whippings you handed us. No reason to leave now because the worm will eventually turn.

After the teams you have played, you should be ashamed that you don't also have the #1 offense.

You are not the only team in the country that would be 3-0 and have those stats playing your schedule. ISU is 3-0 and would be too with that same schedule.

First team offense only played the first half in all three games.

I am shocked by this board and the ESPN board about all these Tech fans bragging about stats against HS football teams. How in the world have they convinced themselves that this is a whole new team? I understand being optimistic but the level of arrogance based off games against nobodies is at ret@rd levels
