Taking my 6 year old to first game
I use the term 'first' loosely. She came to the UNLV game as a baby and a few years ago to the OSU game and yelled "Go Hawkeyes" on the way into the stadium. Now that I have washed her mouth out with soap and she can walk again from the paddling she received, I'm going to try this again. Just me and her. She wants to tailgate ahead of time (for different reasons than me I'm pretty sure). I was looking at the gameday press release, is the Kid's Clone Zone thing free or does she have to be a member to get in? Also, are there any family bathrooms at JTS? Without my wife there I am trying to cover all my bases.

There is a family restroom, and here's a map: http://www.desmoinesregister.com/***...2116380825.PDF
Have a great time; I enjoyed the story!

Cyclone Experience Located on the NE corner of Jack Trice Stadium between Lots 85E and S8, this family-friendly environment includes inflatable attractions, face painting, student-athlete autographs and other activities for kids- all free of charge! Cyclone Experience is also the gameday headquarters for the Jr. Cyclone Club. The area opens three (3) hours before kickoff of every home game and closes 30 minutes before kickoff. Each game offers something new, so families should stop by every game!
Looks like you know where the fun and potties are. Should be good to go.

Have fun! My favorite memories of being little are going to games with my dad. Good on you.

I'm going to have her bring a notepad to write down all the new words she learns and then I will tell her if she can use them in school.

Re: Taking my 6 year old to first game
People have pretty much answered your questions, just wanted to say Have Fun!! We have never made it to the Cyclone Experience since we tailgate in B2 and don't leave early enough to do both. I have seen friends post picture from games where their kids have cool face painting that was done there. My girls are 9, 7, and 16 mo and love to tailgate. Last game we got to play "Guess that charge" when the cops stopped a group of college age kids with open containers. My oldest's guess was underage drinking and open container, she felt he would't get public intox. ;) (Actually that was the first time in 3 years we've had that happen right in front of us). Should be a perfect night for a win!

She was on such a good path. She knew what she wanted. And you just had to take it from her.
How dare you.
