I'm going to disagree here. I think this is our worst logo ever.

The helmets aren't bad at all and I don't mind them. That being said, I think we can do much better.

The current helmets aren't bad. IMO they are right in the middle and don't belong on any top 10 lists, good or bad.

I think that depends on your age. For me (late 20's) that's the first ISU logo I remember. A lot of my baby clothes and such had that on it.

The writer's credibility is gone when he rips on UAB for copying LSU's helmet design and then goes on to claim that Eastern Michigan needs to copy the Philadelphia Eagles helmet design or that Kent State should copy the San Diego Chargers helmet design. Obviously the writer is a complete idiot.

Could not agree more with this. Since day one I have said this does not work. Cardinal on cardinal doesn't show our logo whatsoever.

And what is the difference here? Success. Just stick with something and win games and before long it goes from "old fashioned", "boring" and "plain" to "classic."

By the way, I agree, that stick figure kNU "N" is one of the worst.

Our current one is great! The best we've had so far. And to whomever said that I-State could be any of 3 different teams, that's not true. The "A" in STATE is situated so that IA is formed, thus creating the two-letter code for the state of Iowa. Sure the "A" would be centered for IDAHO, but that'd be stupid since they're ID, right?

But there are a lot of uglier helmets than ours. Maryland, Northwestern, Iowa's Turd-bird, Kansas State, the OSU logo is just odd, Colorado, Vanderbilt, Air Force, Boise State, Washington State, Cincinnati, etc. That was really a pretty weak attempt at picking a list of 10 by that writer.

Two more just occured to me... the Beavers, and then Missouri's latest entry in the arena league.

Wow. Extreme difference in taste I guess. I really like most of the helmets you just mentioned. What helmets does everyone else like? I like helmets that are classic, but do something BESIDES just putting a letter or two on. Here are some of my fav's:

Navy (anchor helmet)

Oilers (miss um)

Bills

'76-'78 were the best of all, in my opinion. The Johnny Majors helmets of the early 70's were pretty cool too, what with the alternate colors.

The '75-'78 logo always seemed a little redundant to me. "ISU" inside of an "I".

But hey, at least we win when we rock the throwbacks.

IMO...Current design is ok, but would look better on white or canary gold w/cardinal stripe from front to back.

Agree. The I-State logo itself is fine. But I have to admit it is a minor fail to have a cardinal logo on a cardinal helmet.

I love our I-state logo. The first year I didn't like it - but it is really turning into our brand the longer we keep it.
