i see this game as more of a win/lose type game.
If we win, we move to 4-0 for the first time since 2000. We will also be ranked somewhere between #22-28, and one win closer to bowl eligibility.
If we lose, we fall to 3-1 (0-1) in the conference and are left with our backs against the wall fighting for a 6 win season against a brutal schedule. Our national championship hopes will be meek, and our conference championship hopes in jeopardy.
I think this is a pick'em that will bolster hope for a great season for either team.
General rule of sports: wins are good
Get real. ISU's national championship hopes are already meek.

My opinion of national perception (since they've never thought much of us anyway):

Didn't read the thread - can only assume it's in regards to playing Iowa in the non-con. Yadda yadda yadda.
There's something to be said for enjoying football for the sake of football. I love speculating if we're going to beat this team or who is going to win the conference this year as much as anybody, but not nearly as much as I like just watching the game itself.
^^^Yes, these six week long open weeks are killer.
Very stupid topic.
Rationalizing your loss already, huh?
If we win, we likely enter the top 25. If we win by 17+ points definitely in the top 25 and were 4-0. Being 4-0 does wonders for confidence. Maybe we go down to TCU and pull out a win and were 5-0 and somewhere around #17-22 ranking wise when top 5 K-state comes to town. Either way being 4-0 with 8 games to go, I like my chances at bowling
Yes, Being 4-0 overall, 1-0 in the Big 12, and likely being ranked is a "loss."
