Please. Who is going to win the C-USA then? West
Tulane? No
Rice? No
Houston? No
UTEP? No
SMU? They might challenge Tulsa, but I doubt it. East
Southern Miss? Lol, no.
Memphis? Hell no.
UAB? That's a no.
UCF? They could if they weren't under probation, so no.
Marshall? Maybe
ECU? Maybe
Tulsa will be in the championship game, and should win it.

There's only one thing that is going to change the perception of ISU, and that is ISU getting out of the 5 to 7 per season win thing and stepping to that proverbial next level. Because it's a major source of information about the conference, and where the respective teams belong in the conference. Recruits read this. Fans read this. Like it or not, agree with it or not, but media perception influences public perception.
No different than how ESPN have such love for the Big Ten and Notre Dame all these years, so they're always "perceived" to be so good. (This year may be the exception, as the Big Ten is so bad that ESPN is now dogging them, and Notre Dame is actually deservedly good for once). But in the end, this affects public perception.
You'd think a win like last year's OSU game would resonate a bit more, and I for one agree that there should be more respect. We shouldn't be a dog in all of these games. Do I like being the dog? Of course - it makes the kids hungrier. But always being the dog doesn't necessarily make the recruits want to play for you. A lot of them want to play in a place where they think they can win. Can CPR influence this? Of course. But so can Ubben, just as much.

Re: ISU against the world
Winning games like this is what will show the rest of the world that under CPR, ISU has indeed turned the corner and we are not to be taken lightly anymore.
Having a very loud sellout Jack crowd and kicking their red ***** will scream that message plus "We are for real so let's get this place bowled in so more fans can share our fun".

Being the dog is getting old, like most have said recruits and casual fans read his stupid ****. We have soundly beat Tech two years straight now and still the dogs at home just like against Tulsa. Cyclones Kick the living **** out of them tomorrow and if we can run up the score ******* do it screw them and these so called "experts."

Tulsa will be in the championship game, and should win it. ECU and Marshall would both challenge Tulsa for the CUSA title. Tulsa's defense is really bad. Did you see what Marshall did to WVU? Their QB is really good.

Did you just seriously say that Ubben has just as much influence over recruits as CPR does? If so, that might be the silliest thing ever posted on CF, and that's not an easy feat to "accomplish".
Do you know why last year's OSU victory doesn't get ISU the respect you think it should? Because ISU finished 6-7. Teams with losing records don't usually get much respect.

Marshall lost by 35 points in a rivalry game... While Tulsa's offense isn't WVU's, they are averaging 40.3 points per game (and that's with ISU holding them to 23). I would wager that Tulsa will put up enough points to beat Marshall. And Tulsa's defense actually isn't that bad.

Iowa would have beat anybody on TT's non-conf schedule, handily. TT fans seem to be very impressed with beating these teams (I have no idea if you are in this category or not, but there seem to be plenty of TT fans that are) yet you downplay us beating Iowa because they are having a down year. Even in a down year for them they are better than the sisters of the poor TT scheduled.
