Did the Kickoff Rule Change Hurt ISU?

I think moving up the kickoff really hurts this team. We seemed to have excellent starting field position a lot of last year. I think the Kickoff rule change really hampers this team this year.

Any other thoughts on this?

Yeah, it hurt us. They also took away our patented onside kick, but them's the breaks.

Not angry, nothing we can do about it. Just an observation, wanted to hear other opinions on it.

Does anyone know the reasoning behind this rule change? I thought touchbacks were preferable due to player safety concerns. Doesn't the new rule encourage more runbacks if the kicker can put the ball right on the goal line?

well, lets see. we were in the top ten in kick return average last year so i say yes.
