Re: Two things......
For all you suggesting that Sturdy and Mess are learning on the go now is not the time for this. We have one of the best defenses in Iowa State history. The*defense plays like a unit that could win 10 games yet the offense can't work with a single thing the D gives them (great field position and more possessions via TOs). The most frustrating thing in Saturday's loss for me was seeing the possibility of dealing with another offensive disappointment this year and losing out on an incredible opportunity this defense is willing to provide this year. So frustrating. Like I said now is really not the time for two coaches to learn on the go.

These are also the FIRST ones to come on here with the sky is falling nonsense.
If you don't realize that Steele Jantz has played all of 18 games as a college QB, now you do.
There is some of that, but I don't think I'm in that camp. Based on last season, I hoped for another 6 or 7 win season (hoped for 6, wished for 7 as an improvement), but my greatest fear was no improvement on offense.
I carried over from last season happy with the defense, but hoping that the line could start getting pressure. I carried over from last season marginally satisfied with the offense....if they could only stop the turnovers. They could score, when they didn't shoot themselves in the foot. Thru the first 3 games, I got happier on the defense (line getting in there), got more nervous with the offense, as we flopped offensively (although still winning) against the closest opponent to what we'll face the rest of the season (Iowa), and in the other games, we scored points, but still had the turnovers.
I came into Tech nervous. Defense can do it, offense...show me whatcha got. I think the meltdown is coming as well from those (like me) who wanted to see what our offense could do in the conference, and we got....that.
I'm not suffering from delusions of grandeur, I was not expecting a conference title and NC run, but it looks to me like unless we can get some **** figgered out, we're going back'ards, not even matching last year.

Thinking KU, Baylor, and TCU will be our three best possibilities to win at this point.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Two things......
This is right. We will not have a defense like this again for a long time. You've got to be ready to take your shots when you've got the talent.
I agree, this defense could win 10 games if the O could do anything. That said, I'll be happy if we get 6 wins.
