I don't see how anyone expects things to get any better when Mess has all ready proven he is out of his league.
Can you honestly look at his play book, play calling, game plan, lack of ability to make adjustments and say you see this turning around?
Honestly it truely feels like somone was hired for a job they are not qualified for.
I'll admit that I am completely, totally, gawd dammed sick and tired of our offense, collectively. I am unquestionably proud of our defense. Some of the teams we kept below 30 points this year and last are phenomenal offenses. At the end of last year, I was convinced that the only games we lost, and the only games we got blown out, were games where we couldn't keep the defense off the field. They got gassed, and started giving up gains and points.
I came into this season hearing CPR talking about his best team thus far, and all the bluster, and was convinced that maybe our offense would be 'good enough' to win. With our defense, they don't have to even be great, just put some effing points on the board.
I watched the first 3 games and was nervous, but happy we were 3-0. I saw a lot of what I saw last year, bad mistakes, poor choices, and I'll add play calling on top of it, worse than last year. I told myself to chill, we're 3-0, but the uneasy feeling had me nervous going into this game. I started off kind of nervous, then after the AJK pick 6, thought, here we go, let's get some momentum...and then we started ******** ourselves.
I'm an offensive-minded person (I mean I want to see offense, although, I'm sure there will be some who consider me offensive) but this defense has made me love defense. At this point, I'm happy if we punt, it means we didn't eff ourselves. I'm okay with not scoring on every drive, our defense can handle that. But, we've got to score something, and we have to keep the studs off the field long enough for them to stay fresh.
*edit: Apparently the filters are smart enough to catch and sensor when one believes they will only expel gaseous matter, but ends up expelling a mixture of gas and semi-fluidous matter.
^^^^^sheesh, who's the arsehole writing war and peace.
It's one game, one loss, and you're already saying the season's over?? We didn't play our best and I agree I'm not sure Steele is the answer, but I hate when people on here are saying JB isn't the answer and we need to resort to Sam or Rohach. The speed of the game from high school to college is greater than you'd think and while Rohach is a stud, and I really do think he's going to be the QB of the future, its idiotic to say he's ready to go right now. And as far as Sam..he's good, but he's no where ready to start for this team either. Everyone would be saying the same thing if either of these youngins were to play right now "ooh get them off the field, they're the reason we're losing." JB led our team to the biggest win in school history last year, and he's the only QB on the roster with a big XII victory, two actually. For anyone to look him over and say he's not good enough is just plain dumb.
And as far as Cole. He's good, has a strong leg, but it's pretty premature to say he will be our "greatest kicker of all time," when he hasn't even stepped on the field. If you're basing your assumption on his All-State honors and whatever else he had, look at what Guyer had, and tell me how that worked out for him. I agree that Cole's the kicker of the future, and I anticipate him to start next year, but there's a reason why Arceo won the job this year so they must be closer talent wise than you think. I think it'd be a good idea to stick it out with Edwin, unless he has a Mahoney type breakdown at Baylor last year when he missed two XP's in that game, then I think it's time for Cole.
Terd Cutter U is going down this weekend.....unless Saturdays ISU team shows up, then we will get them next time for sure.
We need to steal a game on the road (TCU). ISU needs to defend home field.
Meh, I can accept that ISU won't go undefeated. And I don't want our one loss coming at the end of the season and ruin our National Title hopes. :jimlad:
