Re: Voices from the stands: Texas Tech ed.
I yelled put Tiller in... Not because I want him at QB, but because he has been one of our best WR's this year. Didn't see him a whole lot last night. Of course we didn't really see any of the WR's.....

Re: Voices from the stands: Texas Tech ed.
Girl in front of me spent the whole game on Facebook and didn't watch the game. Her friend was a hottie and was shaking her butt and dancing to every song. A few rows down, a guy was hanging all over another dude during sweet Caroline. Then he went down the row and was hanging on a different dude that got ticked. He ended the song by doing the pelvic thrust at an older couple a row up. I hope he was drunk.

I yelled "forward pass" when Jantz dropped the ball when he scrambled. I doubt it was, probably just wishful thinking.

Our group of friends enjoys yelling "Touchdown they did it" at random parts of the game.

Some ****** hawkeye fan come speeding into Lot S6 about 5:30 and takes up 2 parkin spots......this annoyed me for a variety of reasons.....saw another hawki fan in full hawk gear tailgaiting at 1pm in D3. If he was a real fan, wouldn't he be at Kinnuck or atleast in front of a tv.

Re: Voices from the stands: Texas Tech ed.
Got in a bit of a confrontation with a kid sitting behind me in the student section. Other than the fact that he was a giant D-bag, he had 0 knowledge of the game and any time Jantz would throw an incomplete pass would yell "BARNETTTTT!" Now I know Steele had a horrible game, but this was within the first 5 minutes of the game. Along with this, he was constantly booing his own team and even yelled "Get off the field you ******* panzy" when (I think it was) Tuftee was down on the ground and needed help to get to the sideline. Anyway, I turned around and gave him a piece of my mind, complete with real analysis of what was going on in the game and why he sounded like an idiot and he and his friends hit the road.
I don't expect everybody to be knowledgeable of the game, and with how bad of a game Jantz had, I understand why he was constantly ragging on him. But to boo your own team (not just Jantz) all game long strikes a nerve with me.

Re: Voices from the stands: Texas Tech ed.
1). i was sitting in the wheelchair section and me and buddy were getting all pumped for the game and this old guy leaned over to us and began to tell how he and his wife were retired and they traveled Iowa and got be really good friend with this high up operator for John Deer and then proceed to tell us he recently committed suicide... it tell you i put a damper on the pregame festiveness
2). right behind me the entire game there was this section guard who was cheering for Texas tech the entire time. he almost was standing so close to my wheelchair it gave me very minimal room to move around adjust like i must to constantly i finally turned around and asked him to give me more room and he gave me a look and did so...

I noticed a bunch of people in the student section who didn't take off their hats for the national anthem. Disrespectful.

Re: Voices from the stands: Texas Tech ed.
In section 8 there was a guy sitting in front of me talking on his cell phone during the game. I was yelling and cheering like I always do along with the other 50,000 in the stadium. He turned around and said in a stern voice, "Could you hold off for a minute! I'm trying to talk to my wife!" I was like alright whatever, but he kept talking, and talking, and talking. I resumed cheering like normal and everytime the crowd cheered he would take the phone away from his ear and look all ****** off and shake his head. This went on for probably 15 minutes. I'm glad I didn't get asked again to be quiet, he wouldn't have liked my response. Seriously, GTFO of the stands and go somewhere else if you need to talk on the phone and can't hear.
*Section 8, not 18!

Re: Voices from the stands: Texas Tech ed.
There was a guy in 18, bout halfway up or so, that proposed. We were winning at the time, so that probably helped.
Someone behind us in 17 or 18 said something like "Not every play has to be a touchdown run" after we watched a whole string of offense trying to be fancy and getting nowhere instead of going for the easy 5 yard gains or so.
