This is what I don't understand..why have we played worse the last four weeks?

Well after the obligatory I just finished re watching the first half and I'm actually feeling a lot better. We really played a lot better then the stats and just the general feeling you had at halftime.

The defense was outstanding as we knew already. However, they gave up two big plays on third down and long that really hurt them. The first was early on for like 3rd and 16 that went for 32 yards that didn't hurt too bad but kept them on the field. The second obvious one was the TD right before the end of the half. That was third and goal from the 11 yard line. They had taken almost 4-5 mins trying to score from our 38 yrd line. You hold them just short and the moment stays with us. We just had a few bad plays that were at very inopportune times.

The o-line really didn't play that bad as I watched. However, they had three really costly blown assignments. The first two were on blown 3rd down blitz assignments. Tech really never brought the house but faked it and had one person run free. The last blown assignment I believe was on a second or 3rd down running play where someone just ran right by the end who made the tackle.

Throw in a few penalties at bad times and that terrible missed read TO by Jantz on the very first play after we got our best field position at the 50 yard line and it was impossible to get any good rhythm going. Anyway if you can believe it we actually out gained Tech by almost double in the running game 120 yds to 60 yds.

TCU has not looked that great either. They have turned the ball over and allowed opponents back in the game. Plus, it will be cold down here for Texas standards, low 50's with a rain possibility. I like our chances if the defense can force some turnovers and put TCU on their heels.

Sorry not optimistic about this one. Our D will be good, but our offense I feel is going to **** it down their leg most of the time this year. Hope not, but Central Michigan put up more points than we did against Iowa.

I'm optimistic because TCU has looked like dogshit, and are riding their BCS-busting reputation to a gaudy ranking. They'll be unranked after we beat them. And we will beat them.
They say that English surnames came from what you did with your life. I'm so glad my last name isn't Dickinson.

Teams actually make adjustments and well I think our playbook is maybe a couple pages long.

I'm very optimistic, after watching pieces of the replay I think it's more a line issue and a play calling issue than most of us thought it was. Still problems, but maybe problems that are more fixable then making a QB switch or changing to a whole new system. I think many of us will be surprised over the next couple weeks.
