JB is a guy that is efficient within the structure of the zone read. It's like the old saying about Leroy Hoard...If you need three yards I will get you three yards. If you need five yards, I will get you three yards.
That fits JB to a tee, he's very dependable, doesn't make too many mistakes running the zone read.
Jantz is a much higher reward guy. Coaches see the plus arm, and the quick feet, and see that he can do things that no other QB on the roster can do. It isn't really that shocking that they keep going to him. A "good" Steele Jantz can win more games than a "good" Jared Barnett, his ceiling is higher.
The reality of this years Iowa State team is that we are a defensive, ball control offense team in a crazy Madden offensive league. That type of reality to give us the best chance to win is to play the guy that makes the fewest mistakes.
Totally off-topic, but this just reminded me of how much I loved Leroy Hoard as a kid.
