It's a dead horse we're all beating.
Since Iowa has AIRBHG do we have an AISKHG (angry Iowa state kicker hating god) food for thought lol. *do I need a jimlad* lol
Its not a dead horse...the horse is long from dead unfortunately. It not only the missed PAT's, which is really bad, but the fact that we struggle to kick the ball in the end zone on kick-offs. I have a very hard time believing Netten is not better then Arceo, and if CPR is saving a red-shirt on a kicker after 4 games, that is ridiculous. If both Netten an Arceo cant do it, there has to be someone on ISU's campus who can.
We need to recruit nationally for a kicker IMO. We have just taken one of the better Iowa HS kickers every year lately and it's not working.
Netten really must not be that good yet. If he is, then the coaching staff is being stupid by not playing him. Even if we just use Netten for PAT's it would be worth taking off his RS IMO. It's in Arceo's head now that he's going to miss a PAT.
Does this guy have any eligibility left?
His field goal yesterday was important. Overall, those have been pretty good. Have to work out the bugs on the xp though.
For the 1,550,585th time, Kirby will probably never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever do a place kick at Iowa State. There's a reason more teams don't have a punter/kicker. The motions are completely different and the number of people who can do them both is very low. That's why Alex Henery was such a weapon for Nebraska. Only takes up 1 scholarship versus using two for each a punter and kicker.
Kirby is a lefty, so if he did PATs while Arceo did FGs, it would be a mess for Bueker going back and forth. We'd probably end up missing more from bad holds due to it than we currently do. Risk isn't worth the reward. Arc just needs to realize he doesn't need to put all of his power into a chip shot.
3 pats in 5 games in not ok. hold an open tryout for pat kicker. take the first person who can hit 50 in a row with the defense coming at him.
