It is contracted out to a company called Lids Clubhouse. It is marketed as the "Offical Store of ISU Athletics", so I'm sure the AD some some say in what types of items they want to sell, but I doubt they are approving each shirt.

[QUOTE=alarson;3092010]Those of you who are ********, i am sure the AD would be happy to not sell them in exchange for a donation equal to or greater to the number of dollars they will make selling these shirts.
I dont have any desire to buy one. I didn't have much desire for the iowa one either. But i'm not going to complain about our AD, one that is extremely underfunded in the conference, from doing everything it can to get an extra dollar.
I agree with the concept but much prefer one that said "I packed the Jack" etc. But on this subject, was everyone aware that the ISU Athletic Marketing team won the national MTOY award for 2011/2012? These are the talented folks who created our awesome "There's only One" 2012 football poster/schedule. I spoke to a friend there and she said the MBB photo shoot went very well a couple of weeks ago and those posters will be ready shortly before the season starts. They also have a weekly auction of Cyclone memorabilia for our mancaves at cyclones.com.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm pretty sure in a case like that the AD would have some approval over the items sold, and possibly even somewhat over the design. Plus, I'm sure there are some copyrights involved. I just wondered if this was just an ISU thing, but if it is handled by an outside vendor like this, they are no doubt doing this same thing for some other schools. Still kind of embarrassing though.
I can see it for a game like Okie State last year....do a "I was there" shirt with the score and stuff......but hopefully it won't happen every time ISU wins a game.

This game felt a lot like the Tech game from last year. Neither were good enough to be ranked. We went to their place and proved it.

They did it after the Iowa game too. I don't know which is worse...
I saw that while *in* the Cy's Locker Room store on South Duff today... I was embarrassed to see it.
Re: Today was a good win, but this is a bit ridiculous...
We haven't beaten a top 15 team on the road since 1977. Say what you want about the shirt or TCU, but it was a big win. And by no means 'expected'.
Re: Today was a good win, but this is a bit ridiculous...
It looks like somebody found a copy of the bowl game shirt from 2005 and photoshopped "Champions" on it.
Also looks like ****.

That's the dumbest shirt I've ever seen. Please no.

All the Iowa shirts that you've seen in your life, and that's the dumbest one you've ever seen?
I don't like defending the shirt, but it can't be the dumbest.

Just like when Diamond Dave led off Cyclone Reaction with suggesting the fans meet the team when they get home. Like Rhodes said that night of the Texas win this program is going to the point where we are above that stuff.
Is it possible to trade him and his dad Jerry to the Hawks.

The athletic dept has to approve every shirt design that has to do with the Cyclones.

Yeah, we are above this stuff. Honestly, I am happy we won but I'm not elated. I expect us to win games like this. TCU isn't a Top 15 team. They may be in the top 30 with Pachall but they have some deficiencies especially wihtin their secondary and Oline. Anyway, what I am saying is this isn't worth celebrating. Short of something like OSU or a conference championship, there shouldn't be unexpected things happening. I won't be shocked if we beat anyone outside of WVU. At this point, that would shock me.

No, Erik, it is. Hawkeye garb is in a different category ranking.
Re: Today was a good win, but this is a bit ridiculous...
I don't want to diminsh this win, but it felt like we might have beat a 5-7 or 6-6 TCU team. Still great to win a Big 12 game on the road but there is no reason to celebrate individual wins with a shirt.

That TT loss is looming larger by the minute, huh?
