As far as the first uniform, a few years ago I was neutral towards it, but now I'm growing to dislike it more and more.
As for the bottom uniform, that's essentially what we're wearing now, just with a cardinal helmet and not gold pants on the road.
49er uniforms. GOLD, not mustard.
Coe college is close.
at best, they could modify helmets slightly and or bring back the red pants. sick of hearing about trice throwbacks. we'd look like michigan/wisconsin which were awful. if you think differently, you are out of your mind...i for one think spending 100k for a football jerseys alternates is a bit far fetched, considering half the board or more is expecting the athletic dept. to bowl in the JTS in the next couple years.
got to love homers...
Within 10 years (maybe less) some of the more outlandish uniforms and alternate combos are going to seem outdated, in some cases silly.
ISU has a simple, old-school design. Stay with the basic look, win a lot — it'll start showing up on "best uniforms" lists.
A newer look of these helmets and uniforms would be my pick. I especially like the 83'-86' look with the Cyclone on the helmet and it gets us away from the USC look.
The throwback look from the 07' Iowa game was pretty cool though also...
I think I'm the only one that really liked the Cardinal, Gold, White, and Blue basketball jerseys. As for football, I still love the red/red and red/white we had during the Meyer era. I also still like our away jerseys with Seneca and Sage (Did Bandhauer ever rock the ketchup and mustard like those two?).
I love our current home jerseys. The away jerseys are terrible. I agree with the golden arches. Ugh...
If there is any change I hope it is this for one game a year:
I'd like to see some flat cardinal helmets.
I like the uniforms, especially our helmets. Only thing I'd change is getting rid of the shoulder strips. I don't think
we should get caught up in the gaudiness of where some of these teams are going. I must prefer to develop some
tradition rather than cave into fad.
