We would kick it through the end zone everytime if we could. It's Arceo and not Rhoads. Need a stronger leg. I'd like to see the high and short kicks if we can't kick it out.

The fact I was referring to was the moving of the line of scrimmage, not the rest of my statement. Re-reading it, I could have worded it better.
Rhoads has commented earlier this season about wanting to see better kicks on kickoff from Arceo. I don't have the link to it, may have been a Monday press conference or DMR article. I think he talked about it quite a bit after Tulsa or Iowa. If we're not going to kick it to the endzone, then the coverage needs to improve if we're going to take the chance of them returning it from around the 5 yard line to stop them before the 25. If your goal is to let them return but stop them before they reach the 25 and your players aren't successful at stopping them there, then you should probably just boot it through the end zone and put them at the 25, IMO.
I dont know what the weather was like in Texas, but as it gets colder it's gonna be harder to get touchbacks.

Looking like our opponents fieldgoals percentage is better than our PAT percentage

Are we really questioning the leg strength of a guy who has distance for a 60 yard fg? He can kick it far enough to get touchbacks, but the strategy has been to kick it as high as possible and have the returner catch it at the goal line. So far it has worked great 3 games, and all of a sudden was exposed again yesterday. We aren't West Virginia, we don't have the offense to just give away 5-10 yards of field position on every kickoff.
Will be interesting to see what we do Saturday, Dawson was pretty good but Lockett might be the best returner in the league.
Skye Dawson was good and they blocked well for him, but ISU does have a solid special teams....It was one game....
Didn't we have one touchback against TCU? EDIT: Actually, we had two, both with the wind at our backs im assuming. Also, we had one where he must have kicked it to the goal-line because they only returned it to the 23?
I think we have been good here this year but for whatever reason yesterday there was a ton of bad angles and over-run coverage, stay in your lane but know when to break it down.... Hopefully adjustments are made, because Lockett does frighten me....
He kept making a first move to the inside and then breaking to the side line following the outside blocker. His acceleration got him 10 more yards everytime.
I'm not sure whether to be more concerned about the impact on games this year or if this is represents a step back in talent for next couple of years.
QFT, anyone who thinks Arceo doesn't have the leg to kick it into the end zone is not paying attention. CPR commented on this before the season even began that the goal is to kick it high and near the goal line and force them to run it. The strategy didn't work well in the Tulsa game or TCU game, and worked very well in our other three games.
Arceo has kicked it into the endzone when the risk of a return was too great of risk, which was a couple times at the end of the game against TCU. Due to Kansas State having a great return team, and our coverage being hit or miss, I hope we change that game plan and kick it into the endzone against K-state. Too risky against them IMO.
