Re: CFTV: Barnett/Lenz talk offense, KSU

Was very happy to see the Jet tempo come back. Hopefully offense is clicking again this weekend because if there is one way to beat an efficient defense like KSU it is by not giving them time to get set, comfortable, and assignments figured out.

Was the increase in tempo really something that Barnett could do that Jantz couldn't? It seems like this is more a matter for the OC.

Re: CFTV: Barnett/Lenz talk offense, KSU

It's totally on the QB, because if the QB can't make reads/decisions quickly and have the offense down pat, the OC isn't going to go jet. Steele did it a couple times this year, but only on the first series of each game - when he basically was running through the first 6 plays or so that they'd been doing in practice time and time again all week. Once that set of plays in that order were done, he lost it.

Barnett "seems" to be able to do it much more consistently - hope that's not just wishful thinking on my part, because it is a huge weapon - think Colts with Peyton Manning (and no, JB is not Manning).

It does sound like Barnett has a better handle of what is happening on the opponents defensive side of the ball. His Dad being a Coach probably helps him evaluate and understand the game. Marginal talent or not Barnett is the better QB. He has his work cut out for him this week. I can't stand snaggletooth, but he can Coach and will mix it up.

Interesting to see the difference in interview style between SJ and Barnett. SJ always seems a bit aloof, not animated ---just sayin'

I hate when you can barely hear the question that is being asked and you have to try and figure it out by their response. Can't they give them a microphone or something?
