Re: Razorback fans starting to talk about Rhoads.....
Sorry for fueling the speculation I just found iit ironic that Arkansas fans think they can do so much better. They dismiss the idea as nonsense at this point. Let them think that. Fact is Rhoads has proven himself to be a great coach and will get interest now and in the future as long as he keeps doing what he has been doing- winning.. Ferentz was hot once too, still a good coach but doesn't get mentioned for every job that comes open and that's not because Iowa is a blue blood program. I hope the same happens with Rhoads where we can pay enough, provide stability and see many years of success but those that say what he will or won't do have not a clue and if you actually do because of your relationship with him, you probably shouldn't be posting on a message board.

Agree! The Ferentz thing though...still can't believe his record the past few years for what they are paying him! Don't blame him though...the University offered him that massive contract!

Should Rhoads leave for Arkansas, I have only one bit of advice for him:
Smile!! .........SMILE!!!!
Keepers of the Faith -- Stranger in a Strange Land Keepers of the Faith is an alliance for those who are excited, enthusiastic, and optimistic about the direction of our men's basketball program. Re: Razorback fans starting to talk about Rhoads.....
It's just the annual "OMG an unsubstantiated internet rumor says that Paul Rhoads is going to leave ISU to coach.... OMG TIME TO PANIC!!!"
Rhoads has stated that he's happy at Iowa State and doesn't want to coach anywhere else, even if the money or prestige is greater somewhere else, because Ames is home for him. Honestly - has CPR proven himself untrustworthy and/or dishonest? If not, then why all the doubt when CPR says he doesn't want to leave? And even if he does leave, he's given everything he has to this program during his time here (unlike some coaches that have coached here). If he gets the job he'll undoubtedly have earned it and I'll wish him well, and JP will find another excellent coach to coach here.
Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this. -

Really looks to me like a thin year for coaching vacancies. Arkansas for sure. Probably Colorado. Maybe Aub and Ten. Is Tedford still coaching at Cal? Pretty much every other BCS school is either doing fine or has a newer coaching staff. I could see next year as having a lot more movement. I could see Bill Snyder and Mack Brown retiring and Pelini getting fired. Plus, Saban could bolt for the NFL again.

Re: Razorback fans starting to talk about Rhoads.....
Can anyone really imagine CPR up on the podium yelling Whoo Pigg Sooeee! I didn't think so. I'll be concerned when jobs like LSU, tOSU, Texas, OU, UGA, ATM, PSU, Bama, Michigan, UF come open. When/if he leaves, it will either be for a blue blood or the NFL. And I don't think that either are all that likely.

Colorado and Nebraska are better jobs than Arky (easier to win at) coming up relatively soon that I think CPR would turn both down. If he gets to a point where Texas, Notre Dame, or the NFL come calling that is a very good thing anyways and we'll be OK.
The Arky job is bad.
2 games a year in Little Rock are pointless and hurt the program. If they want Neutral site games they should have kept their SWC Showdown game at Jerry World with A+M instead of moving it on campus so they could host recruits.
Furthermore on top of the Alabama schools and LSU every year Arky now will have that school that just strait up paid more cash to get DGB off them closeby in Columbia MO, and A+M. And you'll only get a couple of those games in RRS a year with the rest being on the road or a few hours away in the Rock.
That is not a good job. Washington State, Duke, Indiana are probably easier places to win going forward. You couldn't be more correct that they will try and get their man signed and announced by December 2nd. If other good jobs open up I'd think guys like Strong and Briles would take those instead.
I could see Briles staying at Baylor much like Rhoads here considering he hasn'ty played Lache Seastrunk at all. Maybe he doesn't wish to go to a bigger school and have to deal with SEC recruit egos.
