    How do we beat K-State

If you look at the pointa scored per quarter and by half we need to dominate the first half on offense and we need to really dominate them on defense second half.

We have scored 19 more 1st quarter points they they have through 5 games.
We need a real good jump on them 1st quarter.
By half time we hold a 6 point lead in points scored.
    Imperative we lead at half.

By third quarter K-state has out scored its opponents by 19 points.
In the fourth quarter they have a whooping 64 point blast over other opponents.

So we need to stop their 2nd half down pour.

Only Oklahoma slowed them down, but they had 3 turn overs to K-state and that was the game.

So we need to score on them often in the 1st half, and shut them out in the second half.
    No turn overs, win game.

I think it helps our D-Line depth is so deep that we won't tire as easily as their other opponents.

Re: How do we beat K-State

Their second half surge is the product of their relentless pounding the ball in the running game. They flat out wear defenses down. You are right; need to build a lead and continue to pour it on. The ISU D needs to find a way to get off the field early on a number of drives. A turnover at the start of a KSU drive will be so much better than at the end of a long drive; even more important than it has been in games leading up to Saturday. Conversely the ISU O needs to have some long grind it out drives that eat clock, wear down the KSU D and give the ISU D significant time on the bench; then finish it with 6.

I disagree on the no turnovers. Have to have no ISU turnovers and create some from that stingy KSU offense. They are not very free with the ball.

no turnovers. K-State is pretty overrated anyway so just play to our strengths and we win.

    How do we beat K-State?

    By not beating ourselves.

Efficient as possible on offense. Even if we don't score on ever drive, make sure we get a few first downs and Kirby can pin them deep. It will also help our D stay fresh. Make their offense grind it out the entire length of the field. That gives more opportunities for our D to make a stop.

I think the easier thing is to just play defense against them.... something that North Texas 70th in total defense, Kansas 97th in total defense, and Miami 118th in total defense didn't do.

    spelling bee? Math contest?
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

Toss some garlic powder on the KSU sideline. Word is, Snyder really hates garlic.

The only way we will ever beat billy bob snyder is to Make Fewer Mistakes/ Turnovers/ Fumbles than the Wildcats.

If we have One turnover and KState has NONE.....WE F'ing LOSE...regardless of the weather.

Are you sure Snyder is a vampire or is it possible that he is just a member of the undead like that zombie in Miami that ate a man's face off?
