Thought the tornados were headed to eastern Iowa.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Originally Posted by thisISnextyear Anyone else still going to be tailgating at 5AM? I am starting to think of showing up at the normal 7 now. And most likely scaling down what we bring for tailgating into something that can be quickly and easily torn down if needed (fewer tents, fewer chairs, no electronics, no grill), as we'd likely need to tear it down before going into the game anyways this time as those in our group that just come to tailgate that watch the setup during the game probably won't be there. If the forecast changed to where we could get there early enough to get the tents up before it started raining, that might change back to earlier, but with the forecast showing rain starting friday night, that seems unlikely.
I normally start prep weds or thurs of game week, so i'll be deciding fairly shortly.

I probably will end up going by myself, no matter what.

If it is before game time they tell people in the student lots and the lots off of 16th to seek cover in Vet Med. I know that is what they told us in 2005. Of course we continued to drink and watch the wall cloud.

That creek bed had been the emergency bathroom all day.
We all cracked open a new beer and watch the clouds roll by as well.

If you actually had a tornado warning issued during a game, problem 1 is just going to be the amount of time it takes to get 55k people out of the stadium. And even if you could do that and get them to Hilton before the storm hit, you couldn't even fit half of them inside the building. I guess maybe if you open up the other builds like Scheman, CY, and Fischer maybe you could get closer. But you still have a big problem with the lead time required to move that many people into those buildings from the Jack, a typical warning wouldn't give you that long.
A major tornado hitting a large, outdoor sporting event is bad news. ISU is probably setup to handle it better than many places, but it would still be catastrophic.
