Only team other than Ohio State to win on the road against a ranked opponent the last 3 years... that is a cool stat. Surprising too that only 2 teams have done it. The Iowa State University and Ohio State.

Some of that just comes from being the only conference with 90% good competitive teams. Outside of the SEC none of the other leagues even have half of the teams being competitive.
If Tech, ISU, Baylor, OK State and TCU played in the B1G, ACC, Big East or Pac 12 I'm sure they'd be ranked throughout the season. In the Big 12 they have to play each other, so while the computers will all think they're still good, the human voters would never let even 7 of them be ranked at once.
I really can't remember any time where I thought the second from last team in a conference was legitimately a good team. That's the Big 12 right now.
