No, take 'em as they come and see how we measure up this year.
If a loss on Saturday guaranteed that we win the rest of our games, I'd think about it, but I'd still prefer to take our shot at all of them.
Trading 1 win for 1 loss? No way.
I got a 5 week old kid, and they give that 6 weeks, so I already got guaranteed split in the next 2 weeks.
****, sorry, thought this was off-topic, not football.
I'd take the split. A lot of (over?)confidence here after a win last weekend, but given the fact that we have yet to have a non-losing record in the big 12, i'd take a split most of the time at this point (as long as kansas wasn't involved in that split option) given that that 50% winning percentage from the split is better than our overall winning percentage the last few years. Look at it this way. If you could take a split on the remaining non-kansas games (assuming kansas is a likely win), would you? I'd take this one, i'd take one of Baylor\OU, and i'd take one of UT\WV, giving us a likely 8 win record, our best record and first winning conference season since 2000.
I would definitely take a guaranteed loss at OSU for a guaranteed win over a top ten team. The positive pub we would get for another huge upset (rankings not point spread) would be worth it. The entire nation would be talking about ISU and all teams have to take us seriously.
I think a win this weekend would be better for us from a national perspective than getting to 6 and going to a crappy bowl. What do people think about us from last season? The NY bowl or knocking off OSU?
As long as you are living in la la land may as well just say that we are guaranteed victory in the rest of our games. These next two games are going to be tough, even for a good team. I would be happy at the end of the season with a bowl game.
if the win came against purple kansas
you bet your *** i would
@OK State is a taaaaaaaaall order this year
If we think UNI gets "up" for ISU, this is a talented team that's going to be as "up" at home as is humanly possible. I think a KSU win is a lot more likely.
It's not cocky to say that we have a shot in each game anymore. We do. That's why I don't accept the idea of taking a guaranteed loss. We might win them both, we might split, or we might lose them both, but we have a good shot at winning both of them. As long as that shot is there, I stick with the idea of going for 2.
That might be my answer to the kicking game, too.
i'd take it...we play a top 5 team and a big 12 road game against a fairly decent team.
Well considering Kansas is awful, we probably have one more win to find to go bowling. So the question is: how confident are you that we find that win? If you're confident that we will, I don't think you take that split.
