Football recruiting question

We have 19 commits so far. Has CPR said how big he expects this class to be?

I haven't seen any comment from CPR, but with the number of scholarship SRs on the roster, I would guess they'll be in the 23-25 range plus the greyshirt OL.

Is there a max (25?) a team can assign to one class? If so, I expect to sign that many.

25 is the max in one year. 85 is the max that can be on scholarhsip at one time. If, say, this year we had 80 scholarship players, we could sign up to 5 juco december grads next year and count them to this year, along with our 25 high school and regular juco commits.

It would be 25, unless we have grayshirts from the previous year (that IIRC, get counted towards the following class).

Either way, I hope we sign the max possible for this year- even if that means doing some culling to get to 85 total.

I don't think we have space for 25. It would be our graduating seniors plus the Zona LB who bailed since we don't have any other schollys to give out.

I count 20 graduating, plus the 1 kid who bailed, and get 21 open spots for this year before any tinkering or back logging or anything.

Yes, which is why I am in favor of doing some cleaning. Not popular with some, but there are upperclassmen that we could part ways with.

I think the odds are that one or two people will leave, but that is just how it goes.

Looking at the roster I can see 1, maybe 2 players max that wouldn't hurt to lose, but really, neither is dead weight or anything. If we have anybody leave I would have to think it wouldn't be a "no big deal" type of situation.
